S.T.A.R.S – Support, Training, and Assistance to Build Real-World Skills for Disadvantaged Youth

Small-Scale Partnership
01.09.2025 – 31.10.2026

STARS aims to support the integration of young people aged 16-25 from disadvantaged backgrounds into the labor market by equipping youth workers with the essential non-formal knowledge, skills, and methodologies needed to effectively guide and mentor them during their transition into employment and develop a mentorship programme in each country for the youth at risk.

We anticipate measurable improvements in job prospects for marginalized youth, contributing to their long-term social and economic inclusion.

Objectives

  • Equip 21 youth workers (7 per partner country) with the necessary tools and skills for increasing the employability of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds into the labour market, through a dedicated toolkit for youth workers and a 5-days training course.
  • Enhance employability skills of 90 young people from 3 countries (30 per country) with fewer opportunities through a comprehensive mentorship program per country.
  • Develop the organizational capacity of participating organizations to address the employability needs of disadvantaged young people.

Outcomes & Results

  • A toolkit for youth workers addressing the specific needs and barriers faced by young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in entering the labor market. It will include non-formal educational methods and provide guidance for youth workers on creating customized training programs and support activities tailored to the needs of these young people
  • A training of 5 days for 7 youth workers from each participating organisation aimed at empowering them to address the needs of young people with fewer opportunities from their own communities
  • One three-month programme per country comprising targeted workshops and personalized mentoring sessions for young people with disadvantaged backgrounds.
